Adult 'Annoyance' takes Boca audiences to new places

Audiences can expect the most complex production of the Royal Palm Players season beginning Thursday at the Boca Grande Community Center Auditorium.
Director Michele Strauss said the script for “Annoyance” appears simple but the adult comedy is a psychological rollercoaster.
”It's a little edgy and it's funny,” Strauss said. “It's different than what audiences have seen so far this season.”
The three-character cast faces an extraordinary task, she said. But Maggie Bush, Gary Grossman and Gary Blomberg have meshed during rehearsals, Strauss said.
“It came together differently than I thought it would,” Strauss said. “It's been one of the hardest shows I've ever had to direct. No set to speak of, no costumes, one special effect but not a lot of stuff to hide a show with bad performances. If the actors can't carry the show, the show will sink.”
The story centers around Ethan Steckler aka “The Annoyance.
