Named 552nd Operations Group Aircraft Commander of 2008

Air Force Capt. Christian L. Grimm has been named the 960th Airborne Air Control Squadron and 552nd Operations Group Aircraft Commander of 2008.

Selection was based on the individual's exemplary duty performance, job knowledge, leadership qualities, teamwork, significant self-improvement, personal achievements, notable accomplishments, and community service and support.

Additionally, Grimm was awarded Wing Aircrew Distinction of the third quarter 2008.

Capt. Christian Grimm

He is chief of safety and an instructor pilot with the 960th Airborne Control Squadron at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma City, Okla. The captain has served in the military for eight years.

Grimm is the son of Van L. and Cynthia K. Grimm of Seminole Lakes Boulevard, Punta Gorda. His wife, Emily, is the daughter of Terry and Betty Irwin of San Cristobal Avenue, Punta Gorda.

The captain is a 1997 graduate of Charlotte High School, Punta Gorda. He received a bachelor's degree in 2001 from the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo., and earned a master's degree in 2008 from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Durant.
