Southwest Coast:

No Karenia brevis, the Florida red tide organism, was detected this week in water samples collected alongshore of Pinellas, Hillsborough, Manatee, Lee and Collier counties or offshore of Monroe County.

One sample collected at New Pass alongshore of Sarasota County (out of a total of 27 samples) and one sample collected inside of Charlotte Harbor at the Gasparilla Fishing Pier contained background levels of K. brevis.

Discolored water in Tampa Bay (extending from the Gandy Bridge to Oldsmar) is due to a bloom of the dinoflagellate Pyrodinium bahamense. No impacts have been reported from this bloom.

Southwest Florida reporting locations include Manasota Key, Englewood Beach and the Gasparilla Fishing Pier in Charlotte County and Bokeelia Fishing Pier, Bonita Beach Park, Lynn Hall Park, South Seas Plantation on Captiva and Sanibel Island's Lighthouse Beach and Tarpon Beach in Lee County.

Northwest Coast:

No Karenia brevis, the Florida red tide organism, was detected this week in water samples collected alongshore of Escambia, Okaloosa and Franklin counties or offshore of Okaloosa and Franklin counties.

One sample collected offshore of Escambia County contained background concentrations of K. brevis. Counts from samples collected inside of St. Joe Bay (Gulf County) ranged from not present to very low.

East Coast:

No Karenia brevis, the Florida red tide organism, was detected this week in water samples collected alongshore of Brevard and Martin counties or offshore of Palm Beach County.
