Punta Gorda adds historic trolley tours

PUNTA GORDA - The Fishermen's Village has unveiled three distinct tours custom-designed to entertain and introduce residents and visitors to Punta Gorda's local lore and legend.

Tours aboard the air-conditioned Green Hibiscus Transportation Co. will begin and end at Fishermen's Village from 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 2 with "Marshalls and Madames - the People of Old Punta Gorda."

The trolley will stop at murals and historic locations relating to Punta Gorda's past. Historian Jo Lapinski will share her research, insights, and anecdotes about Punta Gorda's historic past and people. Lapinski has operated Trolley Tours by Jo the last four years.
