Keeping up with the news is easier now for Breeze Newspapers readers with Facebook and Twitter pages now available. "Social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook provide an efficient and popular way for all businesses to connect with their customers, and helps the newspapers deliver on the mission of keeping the public informed," said Publisher Jack Glarrow. Links for the Gasparilla Gazette's Facebook and Twitter pages are located on the left side of the bocagrandetalk.com website as well as sister papers such as the Cape Coral Breeze, Captiva Current, Island Reporter and Sanibel-Captiva Islander, Fort Myers Beach Bulletin and Fort Myers Beach Observer, Lehigh Acres Citizen; North Fort Myers Neighbor, and Pine Island Eagle. Boca Grande readers can follow the Gazette's Facebook or Twitter page online wherever they are to make sure they never miss the latest community news. The Facebook page is set up as a fan page, which enables readers with a Facebook account to add it to their profiles with one click. More than 300 million people have Facebook accounts to help them get news and information about friends, family and topics of interest. Once readers click the "like" button on the Facebook page they will get daily links on their Facebook news feed page. Facebook fans can comment on links directly on Facebook as well a suggest the page to their friends. The Gasparilla Gazette has also added a link to Twitter, which uses tweets of 140 characters long to inform people about breaking news. People use Twitter to track of hundreds of people and and use the dozens of applications that interface with the data. The new online pages are part of the continuing efforts by Breeze Newspapers to deliver news and information to readers when, where and how they want it delivered.
