As part of plans to begin an Adult Day Respite Program for persons with early to mid-stage memory loss from Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, Boca Grande Health Clinic will begin volunteer training from 10 a.m. until noon Tuesday, July 19. The training session will be held in the D.L. Moody Fellowship Hall at the First Baptist Church of Boca Grande, 421 Fourth St. CEO John Sielert said it is not too late to sign up as a volunteer to help participants with activities and meal and snack preparation. Volunteers are also needed to lead arts and crafts, music, exercise and other activities. Donations of supplies, CD, videocassette and DVD players, music, videotapes, movies, games and exercise equipment are needed. Donations to help support the program may also be made to the Boca Grande Health Clinic Foundation by calling (941) 964-0099.
