JACK LYONS
Residence: Boca Grande, 240 Waterway, bought in 1990. Designed their own home and it was completed in 1992 by Safety Harbor Construction. The Lyons found Boca Grande through old friends, John and Harriett Child, neighbors in St. Croix.
Specialty: West Indian Art with jewelry and old family pieces.

Work on display: At Boca Grande Alliance for the Arts exhibits, at the Greenbrier in West Virginia and the Grand Hotel in Mackinac Island, Mich., Fine Things, Fugates and seven years at Smart Studio.
Retail experience: "I was in the retail jewelry business with three shops in St. Croix for more than 20 years.
Present project: Recently, I have taken up woodworking, creating bird houses, feeders and cheeseboards in a variety of exotic woods.

Artistic impressions: The Lyons lived in the Virgin islands for about 30 years until Hurricane Hugo hit in 1989. Jack Lyons started a gold shop in St. Croix and continues to make jewelry on his bench in his home here. Much of his art is West Indian mixed with old family pieces.
