Gasparilla Gazette

Charlotte County Sheriff's detectives arrested Sadikey Roland Jennis, 20, 21106 Meehan Ave., Port Charlotte, on suspicion of armed robbery with a firearm.

The alleged robbery occurred Jan. 2 at a home in the 2300 block of Ednor Street in Port Charlotte.

Two women told detectives they were invited to a party. Two men drove to their home and picked them up. En route to the party they picked up a third man. The five of them went to a home in the 100 block of Salem Avenue. Once there, one of the men said he left his cell phone at their home and wanted to go back and get it. One of the women and three of the men drove back to the Ednor Street home.

Once inside the home, the cell phone was located. The woman stepped out of the room for a moment and when she returned saw the three men carrying three televisions and a game system all valued at $2,650. She confronted them and one of the men raised his shirt that revealed a handgun and pointed to it.

The woman, who said she feared being shot, did not contact the CCSO until two days later.

Sadikey Jennis was later ID'd in a photo lineup and remains in the jail on no bond on his 25th booking into county jail. The investigation continues.
