Police arrest burglary suspect at Charlotte High

Charlotte County Sheriff's detectives arrested an 18-year-old Charlotte High School student Wednesday in connection with two home burglaries in northwest Port Charlotte where owners were out of state.

Harc Arthur Richard, 18, 15177 Wymore Ave., Port Charlotte, was arrested Wednesday at Port Charlotte High School and confronted with fingerprints evidence allegedly found in the homes.He was charged with armed burglary, grand theft and burglary

The case began Feb. 16, 2011, in the 1400 block of Morre Street where theft of three firearms, a laptop and a jewelry box totaling $6,200 was reported stolen. The other home burglary was in the 200 block of Myers Street March 17. Answring a loud music complaint, deputies said they saw two young men at the front of the house who ran inside and out the back door to get away.

Police say parties had been going on inside. Two bicycles found at the rear of the home were confiscated along with an iPad, glasses, stereo speakers and refrigerator itms.

CCSO Crime Scene technicians analyzed fingerprints from the burglarized homes and allegedly matched Richard who remains in the Charlotte County Jail on no bond. The investigation continues.
