Charlotte County Sheriff's deputies arrested a Port Charlotte man who allegedly pulled a handgun on a visiting family of four stemming from a road rage incident Friday.

A man on his way to a his mother's house for the Easter weekend with his wife and two daughters, ages 7 and 14, exited Interstate 75 at exit 161 and proceeded to U.S. 41 where he stopped several cars back from the red traffic light.

The man told deputies a red pickup truck pulled up behind him and the female driver started throwing up her hands, screaming and cursing. Male passenger, Knight, also was screaming and then displayed a black handgun. The man said he was in fear for the safety of his family.
Deputies located Knight at a home on Lindsay Avenue and the visitors identified Knight as the man who waved a handgun at them. Deputies seized the 9mm Glock firearm from inside the pickup for evidence, and transported Knight to the Charlotte County Jail where he posted $20,000 bond and was released Saturday.
