The 20th annual Hank Wright Golf Tournament and Auction at Lemon Bay Golf Club April 12-13 was a "resounding" success, organizers say.

The event, which supports the Boca Grande Health Clinic, raised $170,000, reported Mary Anne Hastings, Boca Grande Health Clinic Foundation managing director.

John and Carolyn Sielert of Punta Gorda won the Fiat raffle.

"Wright is CEO of the Boca Grande Health Clinic so we might continue to see the car around town - sans the 'win me' signs, of course," Hastings said.

The low gross winning golf team, included Flip Templeton, Jenny Templeton, Emma Ward, Tom Ward and Libby Frazier.

The low net winners included Bill Beuttin, Laurie Doogie, Yvonne Anderson, Jim Barany and Kevin Reynolds.

Hastings thanked Dr. Hank Wright who for 20 years has lent his name to the annual event to support the clinic and community he loves.

"Our thanks also to the management and staff of the Gasparilla Inn & Club, the Board, management and staff of Lemon Bay Golf Club, Golf co-chairmen Tom Jeffs and Jim Agger, Auction Committee and volunteers, benefactors who donated auction items and prizes and John and Joan Hillenbrand who again donated the Nambe awards for the golf outing," she wrote in a letter to the Gasparilla Gazette editor.
