The Inn Marina at the Gasparilla Inn & Club has been designated a select state marina after qualifying for the Florida Clean Marina Program by helping reduce pollutants reaching Florida's waterways.
"Our historic resort and full-service public marina attract guests who enjoy fishing, boating and exploring the barrier islands of southwest Florida," said Jack Damioli, Gasparilla Inn & Club president and general manager. "It's our responsibility to do whatever we can to preserve this remarkable environment."
With 1,350 miles of coastline, Florida has a $14 billion marine industry. The Florida Clean Marina Program, launched in 2000, is designed to help preserve Florida waterways through waste management, storm water control, spill prevention and emergency preparedness. The program's achievements include recycling 25,000 pounds of material and 75,000 gallons of oil.
