Charlotte County Sheriff's Major Crimes Unit detectives arrested the caretaker of a murdered Port Charlotte man found buried in a grave alongside his home at 161 Avens St.

Detectives identified 74-year-old William F. Taylor through medical records Wednesday - four days after Nangle called CCSO to report she was concerned for the wellbeing of Taylor.

After talking to her ex-boyfriend, Juan Reyes, 47, Nangle told police she feared Taylor may have met with some form of violence.
A Cecil Webb Management Area employee told police Reyes told him he had don something bad and needed to speak to a deputy. Reyes was transported to the Punta Gorda District Office and interviewed by detectives.
A search warrant was obtained for the home site and deputies found a shallow grave on the north side of the home containing human remains. Reyes was then charged with first-degree murder.
Police say Reyes told Nangle Friday that he murdered Taylor while she was out of state for a few days. They allegedly made several attempts to access Taylor's bank account to get money to flee the area. They were unable to get any money due to insufficient funds in Taylor's account.
MCU detectives Wednesday obtained a search warrant for Nangle's car, and located a receipt inside that corroborated an attempt to withdraw money from Taylor's bank account.
Nangle and Reyes remain in the Charlotte County Jail on no bond.
