Gag grouper will be open for recreational harvest in most Gulf of Mexico state and federal waters July 1, including those surrounding Gasparilla Island.
Gag grouper recreational harvest season in Gulf of Mexico state and federal waters will end Oct. 31.
The FWC established these seasons at its February meeting. The regional season was set for 2012 only.
The gag grouper recreational harvest minimum size and bag limits are 22 inches and two gag grouper per person. No more than four of any species grouper may be kept.
