Lee Memorial Blood Centers will hold the 6th annual "Fun in the Sun" blood drives at each of its hospitals this summer.
The next event will take place at:
Cape Coral Hospital in the Auxiliary Meeting Room
Wednesday, July 25, from 9 a.m. 7 p.m.
Thursday, July 26, from 7 a.m. 4 p.m.
Donors will receive a fun, summer-themed T-shirt, discount coupons, refreshments and be eligible for chance drawings for door prizes that include: Regal Cinema movie passes, $50 Publix gift cards, Sandy Hook gift certificate, gifts from Belks, two tickets to Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre Cinderella or Grease performance, and much more.

The requirements to give blood are:
Age: At least 17 years old (16 with written parental consent) and in good general health. There is no upper age limit. Weight: Minimum of 115 pounds.
Identification: Must provide photo I.D. with date of birth.
Food: Eat a good meal before giving and drink plenty of fluids. Medications: Many medications such as insulin, blood pressure, thyroid, cholesterol, aspirin, antidepressants, and hormone replacement do not necessarily prevent someone from giving blood
