Susan Shaffer of Boca Grande was awarded Best in Show at the North Port Art Center's juried "Mixed Media" Exhibit for her 's framed paper sculpture, "Tunisian Fantasy."
This is the second award for the piece, which finished second in an earlier show at Art Center Manatee.
Shaffer is a founding member of the Boca Grande Art Alliance and year-round island resident.

She will be featured in an invitational one-person exhibit at NPAC in November and December. The North Port Art Center, 5950 Sam Shapos Way, North Port, will display the "Mixed Media" exhibit through Aug. 25.
