James C. Baer, age 56, beloved husband of Sharon L. Santino, passed away July 18 at Englewood Community Hospital.
Born April 19, 1956, in Chester County, Pa., to Raymond A. and Mary T. (Deeney) Baer Sr., he was a member and employee of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles No. 3885 of Englewood. H spent many years in the construction and tile-setting trades.
He was an avid sports fan who rooted for the Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Eagles, as well as taking trips to Biloxi, Miss., Paradise Island, Bahamas and Atlantic City, N.J., where he enjoyed playing cards at the various casinos. He also enjoyed golfing, playing the Florida Lottery and attending jazz and blues festivals.
Baer is survived by his wife, Sharon Santino; daughters, Brande, Jesse, and Nikki (John) Baer-McDonald; sons, Jimmy (Angela) and Roddy Baer; 11 grandchildren, Michelle, Anthony, Jordan, Keelie, Ryann, Isabella, Mason, Eva, John, James and Chase; mother in law, Katherine Santino VanAkin; 17 nieces and nephews; sisters, Mary May, Joanne (Jack) Donnelly, Roberta (Sonny) Smyth; and brother, Michael Baer.
He was preceded in death by sister, June Barajas, brother, Raymond Baer Jr. and his parents.
A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 250 Old Englewood Road, Englewood.
