Joshua Gregory Groce, 28, 2047 Florida Ave., and David Michael Scott Jr., 30, 2043 Florida Ave.. have been charged with committing burglaries on the Grove City street they live on. Both were charged with armed burglary and grand theft.
Charlotte County Sheriff's detectives report burglars broke into a home at 2039 Florida Ave. and stole jewelry, electronics, a bow and arrow, GPS, cash, watches, various tools, clothing items, a cable box, house plants, checkbook, and collectible coins from a safe all valued at $5,383. A torch, pry bar, screw drivers and a Saws-All helped open the safe to get the coins.
Detectives located a pawned ring and earrings July 23 at Gold Pros in Town Center Mall that showed a copy of Scott's driver's license. He was paid a reported $300 for the stolen items. The owners identified the items as theirs.

On July 25, detectives were notified by CCSO Crime Scene technicians that they got a positive fingerprint match identifying Groce.
Scott was arrested Friday and Groce was served arrest papers in the Charlotte County Jail where he is being held on unrelated charges.
Scott was also charged with dealing in stolen property and false identification of ownership of pawned items. Groce was also charged with violation of probation on previous drug charges.
Scott was jailed on $35,000 bond.
