Two MedStar helicopters departed around 1:10 p.m. for Lee Memorial Hospital Trauma Center in Ft. Myers after an accident that shut down the westbound lanes opf Stat Road 776 near El Jobean.
The landing zone at Charlotte Sports Park was near the crash site. CCFD/EMS transported another patient to Fawcett Memorial Hospital.
Deputies were rerouting westbound traffic on SR 776 in front of the Riverwood community.
The serious two-vehicle crashwas at the south entrance to the Riverwood community. Deputies are redirecting traffic around the crash site. CCFD/EMS is on scene preparing for two trauma alerts.
Motorists are urged to find an alternate westbound route or be delayed with the rerouting of traffic.
