The Charlotte County Sheriff's arrested a Port Charlotte man after he was reportedly seen stealing dock lift motors.
Police say a witness working at an adjacent business called CCSO Thursday at 6:51 p.m. after he saw a man inside a docked boat in the 3400 block of Tamiami Trail.
George Frank Figueroa Jr., 60, 3221 Easy St., Port Charlotte, was charged with two counts burglary to a conveyance, two counts grand theft and one count dealing in stolen property.

Figueroa reportedly tried to remove a lift motor. Deputies say they caught Figueroa inside the boat and two of the four dock lift motors were missing. They also reportedly found a crowbar, ratchet and a wrench on the boat. A few feet from the dock was a small sledge hammer and a large wood piece used to pry up the boat to take parts from the boat lift.
Detectives checked the scrap metal database and say they located two lift motors Figueroa scrapped July 11-12. When presented with the evidence, Figueroa requested a lawyer. Figueroa was jailed on $15,000 bond.
