Harvey Ward, 93

Harvey B. Ward, 93, of Follansbee, W.Va., and Englewood, died Aug. 15.

Born in Monroeville, N.J., he was the eldest child of the late Harvey Bates Ward, Sr. and Edythe Richman Ward.

Survivivors include his wife of 67 years, Virginia Humes Ward; daughters M. Ellen (son-in-law Louis) Fusco, Brenda E. Ward, and Marcia W. (son-in-law Kevin) Pufpaff;granddaughter, Erin Fusco and her husband Karl Seigfried; sisters-in-law, Cecelia Lee Groff and Dorothy M. Ward; four nieces; two nephews; and beloved havanese Cai.

He was preceded in death by sister, Naomi W. Norman; and brothers, Robert E. and Lester H. Ward.

Following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, he served four years in the U.S. Army Air Corp.

He was former board chairman and president of Bank of Follansbee and Follansbee Insurance Agency, respectively.

He was past master of Wellsburg Lodge No. 2, AF & AM and a member for more than 56 years in Scottish Rite, SJ USA and in Osiris Shrine, Wheeling, W. Va.

He was a deacon, trustee, elder, and choir member of the United Presbyterian Church of Follansbee and an active member of numerous civic and fraternal organizations in Follansbee.

Visitation is at Lemon Bay Funeral Home, Englewood, noon to 2 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 21 followed by a 3 p.m. funeral service at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Venice, with Dr. Charles Wiggins presiding.

A second visitation will be held at James Funeral Home, Follansbee, W.Va., from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 25 with a 1 p.m. funeral service at United Presbyterian Church of Follansbee with the Rev. Colleen Molinaro presiding. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Steubenville, Ohio.
