Charlotte County Sheriff's deputies reported a traffic fatality on Interstate 75 at 4:32 a.m.
The body was hit by multiple vehicles just south of Harborview Road Exit-167 about 100 feet onto the I-75 southbound bridge going toward Punta Gorda.
One I-75 southbound lane is open but motorists are urged to use Exit-167 onto Harborview Road to U.S. 41, south into downtown Punta Gorda, then east on U.S. 17 and back on I-75 at Exit-164.

FHP arrived at 5:36 a.m. and is investigating the incident. No other details are available at this time as CCSO deputies and FHP are interviewing drivers who may have run over the body.
