A drowning victim on Fort Myers Beach has been indentified as Ronald Edward Wilks, 47, of Lehigh Acres.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call at at 5:48 p.m. Saturday about a missing swimmer.
As deputies were responding to the missing person report, another call came in about a person found unconscious and not breathing on the beach behind the Diamond Head Resort, 2000 Estero Blvd., Fort Myers Beach.
Paramedics could not revive the man and he was pronounced deceased.
