The Mangrove Chapter of The Native Plant Society will go for a fun and informational slow stroll on trails of Ann Dever Memorial Regional Park (formerly Oyster Creek Park), 6791 San Casa Dr, Englewood, starting at 9 a.m. Sept. 29.
This mostly shaded walk will go through pine flatwood to a scrub jay area and a bridge over Oyster Creek. Wear shoes that can get wet, a sun hat, and sun lotion, and bring insect repellent and drinking water. Contact Denny Girard with questions at
(941) 474-1492. From Gasparilla Island, take Placida Road to San Casa Road to the park. Entrance is opposite the driveway into the Charlotte County Administration Center. Go to the back of the park past the skate park.
