Jack Damioli, general manager and president of the Gasparilla Inn & Club, said he was "tickled" by the turnout.
"Moving forward, local employment will be the key to our future growth," Damioli said.

Some were offered jobs on the spot. Sue Picard of North Port said she would have to put in her two week's notice at Walgreen's after securing employment at the 99-year-old resort.
"I actually got the job," a beaming Picard said as she exited the brief interview process, which tended to run roughly 10 minutes.
When fully staffed the Gasparilla Inn & Club employs more than 300.
Working at the Inn has become a family tradition for some. Luis Garcia of Englewood worked as a landscaper roughly 25 years ago and he brought his daughter in to apply.
"It's a great place to work," Garcia said.
