At 3 p.m. the stolen car was located about three blocks from the Grove City Fire Station. It was parked in the middle of the road on Pelican Street where it ran out of gas.
At 7 p.m. deputies located Gros and transported him to the CCSO Englewood Office for questioning. Gros said he was heavily intoxicated and doesn't remember what actually happened during the night. He said he did remember being at Jr's Lounge and Bar with friends and then going to a home in Grove City. He says he only remembers stopping at a fire station and somehow obtained a fire department scanner but did not remember if he entered the fire house or obtained the radio from outside the station.
Detectives charged Gros with grand theft auto (Chrysler LHS), burglary to fire station and a conveyance (fire engine), grand theft, burglary to a Jeep and petty theft. He was jailed on $18,000 bond.
