The 2012-13 season in Boca Grande will mark the Foundation's 10th year of operations.
It is amazing how far we have come in this time to ensure the financial future of the Boca Grande Health Care Clinic. With widespread community support and hard work by dedicated volunteers and staff, we have proven anything is possible.
I would especially like to thank John Hillenbrand for the remarkable job he has done over the past two years as chairman with his fine-tuning and fund-raising efforts and increasing our endowment from $14.6 million to $18 million.
Foundation trustees will continue to work diligently to increase the endowment account through fund-raising and investments. I am thrilled to have a great team of committee chairs working with me this year, including: Ann Adams. Bob Freeman, Happy van Bueren and Nancy Martin. It is our intnt, with your help and support, to grow the endowment from the current level of $18.5 million to $25 million to ensure the financial independence of our clinic.
Many exciting things are happening at the clinic but rest assured, no matter how many technological advances the clinic makes, the mission of bringing outstanding services by caring and professional staff to our community will always be the No. 1 priority.
Our island is better because of our clinic and I am proud to be a part of the team that ensures its viability of the forseeable future.
