Charlotte County Sheriff's detectives arrested an Englewood East woman after she allegedly stabbed a man at the intersection of Kidron Avenue and Flintlock Street around 3:30 a.m. Nov. 20.
Melissa Joanne Hughell, 35, 10315 Kidron Ave/. was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
CCSO deputies say the victim was transported by a Bayflight helicopter to Lee Memorial Hospital Trauma Unit with a stab wound to his abdomen. The victim was visiting Hughell at her home when an argument ensued. Hughell told the victim to leave and two other men in her home helped the victim from her home.

A witness told police the two men ran after the victim, one armed with a baseball bat. The men catch reportedly beat the man with the bat causing serious injury. Hughell reportedly found the victim lying on the ground. The victim managed to stand up and Hughell allegedly pulled a knife from her pocket and stabbed him. Hughell reportedly left the victim lying in the street. The victim went to a home on Kidron Avenue where he received first aid until deputies and EMS arrived.
Hughell was arrested on no bond. CCSO detectives are continuing their investigation to locate the two men involved in the case, and also meet with the victim at LMH in Ft. Myers.
